Compasso d'Oro 2026 Rewards Design That Creates Social Value: Our Contribution to the “+ Vicini da lontano” Project

We are proud to share news that fills us with great satisfaction: the “+ Vicini da lontano” project, developed by Ánako APS, has been awarded the Compasso d'Oro ADI 2026, Italy’s most prestigious recognition in the field of design.

This important award celebrates a humanitarian design system created to provide concrete solutions for people facing situations of vulnerability, emergency, and migration. A project that places human dignity at its core and demonstrates how design can become a powerful tool for inclusion, protection, and support.

The Emergency Crib Made of Corrugated Cardboard

Among the solutions included in the award-winning system is one whose development we had the honor of support: a foldable emergency crib made of corrugated cardboard, designed to provide newborns with a safe, hygienic, and easily transportable space in the most challenging environments.

Thanks to the unique properties of corrugated cardboard—lightweight, durable, sustainable, and easy to transport—it was possible to develop a product that combines functionality, safety, and rapid deployment. A solution simple in form, yet rich in human value.

When Packaging Becomes Social Innovation

This recognition is tangible proof that corrugated cardboard can go far beyond its traditional role as packaging.

Every day, we design and manufacture solutions that protect products and optimize logistics. Projects such as “+ Vicini da lontano” remind us that the expertise developed in the packaging industry can also be applied to social and humanitarian challenges, generating a positive impact on people and communities.

Innovation often arises from the ability to look at a material from a different perspective. In this case, a simple sheet of cardboard was transformed into a tool for protection and care for the youngest and most vulnerable.

A Shared Achievement

We would like to congratulate the entire team at Ánako APS on this outstanding achievement and thank our colleagues and collaborators who contributed to the project with expertise, passion, and dedication.

The Compasso d'Oro 2026 confirms that sustainability, design, and innovation can work together to address real needs and create practical solutions where they are needed most.

We are proud to have been part of this journey.
